{"id":20986,"date":"2024-06-14T12:31:41","date_gmt":"2024-06-14T12:31:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tuat.org\/?p=20986"},"modified":"2024-09-13T09:11:37","modified_gmt":"2024-09-13T09:11:37","slug":"tat-advanced-life-support-course","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tuat.org\/en\/tat-advanced-life-support-course\/","title":{"rendered":"TAT Advanced Life Support Course"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"20986\" class=\"elementor elementor-20986\" data-elementor-post-type=\"post\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a20e0af e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"a20e0af\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b48fe41 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b48fe41\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Purpose of the Course:<\/strong><br \/>The purpose of this course is to enhance the knowledge and skills of pre-hospital and healthcare facility healthcare providers in performing high-quality and effective Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) based on current practices, using an algorithmic approach, for patients with cardiac and\/or respiratory arrest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Definitions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR):<\/strong><br \/>In cardiac arrest, CPR aims to maintain effective circulation and respiration until the underlying cause is reversed, involving:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Initial assessment<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Chest compressions<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Airway management<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Ventilation<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of Cardiopulmonary and Cerebral Resuscitation:<\/strong><br \/>The goal is to temporarily restore effective circulation of oxygenated blood to vital organs like the brain and heart until spontaneous cardiac activity is reestablished.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emergency Cardiovascular Care:<\/strong><br \/>Evaluation and treatment within the scope of basic and advanced life support for sudden and often life-threatening conditions affecting the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems. It includes understanding the nature of acute cardiovascular problems, close patient monitoring, early initiation of basic and advanced life support as feasible, prevention of complications, appropriate patient treatment, comfort measures, and transfer to the most suitable healthcare facility for definitive care.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Participants Successfully Completing the Program Will:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create a safe environment.<\/li>\n<li>Recognize the timing and importance of starting CPR.<\/li>\n<li>Identify causes leading to cardiac-respiratory arrest.<\/li>\n<li>Define risk factors, signs, and symptoms of acute coronary syndrome.<\/li>\n<li>Explain risk factors, signs, and symptoms of airway obstruction by foreign bodies.<\/li>\n<li>Safely and effectively manage airway obstruction in adults, children, and infants.<\/li>\n<li>State applicable rhythm algorithms for shockable rhythms.<\/li>\n<li>State applicable rhythm algorithms for non-shockable rhythms.<\/li>\n<li>Apply defibrillation as outlined in the training guide.<\/li>\n<li>List criteria for performing high-quality CPR.<\/li>\n<li>Explain appropriate approaches to the 5H-5T causes during resuscitation.<\/li>\n<li>State stabilization criteria for patients with restored spontaneous circulation.<\/li>\n<li>Perform safe and effective CPR interventions for adults, children, and infants with cardiac and respiratory arrest.<\/li>\n<li>Safely use an external automated defibrillator.<\/li>\n<li>Manage bradycardic rhythms.<\/li>\n<li>Manage tachycardic rhythms.<\/li>\n<li>Understand pacemaker usage.<\/li>\n<li>Provide post-cardiac arrest care.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Duration of Training Program:<\/strong><br \/><strong>The program consists of 4 days, totaling 40 hours:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>20 hours theoretical (in-person, online, or offline)<\/li>\n<li>20 hours practical training on mannequins in skills laboratories<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Participants who successfully complete the program receive 12 credits.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructors:<\/strong><br \/>Instructors include emergency medicine specialists, educators, and faculty members affiliated with the Turkish Emergency Medicine Foundation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Training Methods:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Verbal presentations (in-person, online, or offline video lectures)<\/li>\n<li>Slide presentations<\/li>\n<li>Question and answer sessions<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrations and hands-on practice in skills laboratories using simulations with mannequins<\/li>\n<li>Scenario-based role-playing<\/li>\n<li>Group discussions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Training Documents:<\/strong><br \/>Training materials are evidence-based and regularly updated based on changes in international literature. Participants receive these documents at the beginning of the program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Success Criteria:<\/strong><br \/>Participants undergo pre-tests and post-tests. To be considered successful:<\/p>\n<p>They must achieve a minimum score of 88 on the post-test.<br \/>They must demonstrate proficiency in practical applications.<br \/>Attendance at all sessions is mandatory. Up to 10% absence may be permissible in exceptional cases.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Certificate Issued:<\/strong><br \/>Participants who successfully complete the program receive a &#8220;Certification Certificate.&#8221; The certificate is valid for 5 years, with a requirement for a 1-day refresher course every 2 years.<\/p>\n<p>The certificate specifies the duration of the training program and details the topics covered. It is signed by the President of the Turkish Emergency Medicine Foundation and the Course Coordinator, and is approved by the Ministry of Health, registered in the ministry&#8217;s system.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong><br \/>The program is open to individuals working or intending to work in public and private healthcare institutions, who possess advanced cardiac life support proficiency as defined by the Ministry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Capacity:<\/strong><br \/>The program accommodates up to 30 participants. For information regarding the program fee, please contact the course registration office.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Training Location:<\/strong><br \/>The training program takes place at the Turkish Emergency Medicine Foundation Training and Research Center. For directions, please contact administrative staff at the Turkish Emergency Medicine Foundation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Training Schedule:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Day 1: Begins with opening remarks, introductions, and expectations.
