TUAT

The purpose of this course is to enhance the knowledge and skills of pre-hospital and healthcare service providers in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) based on current practices, using an algorithmic approach, for patients with cardiac and/or respiratory arrest.

Definitions:

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR):
In cardiac arrest, it involves maintaining effective circulation and respiration until the underlying cause is reversed through:

Initial assessment
Chest compressions
Airway management
Ventilation
The goal of cardiopulmonary and cerebral resuscitation is to temporarily ensure effective circulation of oxygenated blood to vital organs, especially the brain and heart, until spontaneous cardiac activity is restored.

Emergency Cardiovascular Care:
It involves the evaluation and treatment of sudden and often life-threatening or potentially life-threatening conditions related to the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems, within the scope of basic and advanced life support. It includes understanding the nature of emergency cardiovascular problems, close monitoring of patients, early initiation of basic and advanced life support as soon as possible, prevention of complications, appropriate treatment of patients, comfort care, and transferring patients to the most suitable healthcare institution for permanent treatment.

Participants who successfully complete this program will be able to:

  1. Create a safe environmen
  2. Recognize the time and importance of starting cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  3. Identify the causes of cardiac and respiratory arrest
  4. Define risk factors, signs, and symptoms of acute coronary syndrome
  5. Explain risk factors, signs, and symptoms of airway obstruction due to a foreign body
  6. Intervene safely and effectively in adults, children, and infants with airway obstruction
  7. State applicable rhythm algorithms for shockable and non-shockable rhythms
  8. Apply defibrillation according to the guidelines in the training manual
  9. List criteria for performing high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  10. Explain the appropriate approach to the 5H-5T causes during resuscitation
  11. State stabilization criteria for a patient with restored spontaneous circulation
  12. Perform safe and effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation interventions on adults, children, and
  13. infants with cardiac and respiratory arrest
  14. Safely use an external automatic defibrillator
  15. Manage bradycardic rhythms
  16. Manage tachycardic rhythms
  17. Use a pacemaker
  18. Provide post-cardiac arrest care.

Program Duration:
The program consists of 20 hours of theoretical training (face-to-face and/or online and/or offline) and 20 hours of practical training on mannequins in a skills laboratory, totaling 4 days. Participants who successfully complete the program will receive 12 … credits.

Instructors:
The program is conducted by instructors from the Turkey Emergency Medicine Foundation, including emergency medicine specialists and academic staff.

Training Methods:
The topics are covered through verbal explanations (face-to-face and/or online and/or offline video training), slide presentations, question-and-answer sessions, demonstrations of practical applications, scenario writing and role-playing, and group discussions.

Training Documents:
Training documents are prepared based on evidence-based information and are updated considering changes in international literature. These documents are provided to participants at the beginning of the program.

Success Criteria:
At the beginning and end of the training, pre-tests and post-tests are conducted. Participants are considered successful if they:

Score at least 88 points on the post-test
Demonstrate proficiency in practical applications
Attendance for the entire training is mandatory, and only a 10% absence rate is acceptable in special circumstances.

Certificate:
At the end of the training, participants who successfully complete the program receive a “Certification Certificate.”

Validity Period of the Certificate:
The certificate is valid for 5 years (a one-day update (refreshment) training is conducted every 2 years).

The certificate specifies the duration of the training program and details the topics covered. It is signed by the President of the Turkey Emergency Medicine Foundation and the Course Coordinator, and it is also approved by the Ministry of Health and registered in the ministry’s system.

Who Can Participate?
This program is open to individuals working or intending to work in public and private healthcare institutions who have the advanced cardiac life support qualification defined by the Ministry.

Quota:
The quota is limited to 30 participants. For information regarding the training program fee, please contact our course registration office.

Training Venue:
The training program takes place at the Turkey Emergency Medicine Foundation Education and Research Center.

For questions about directions, please contact the administrative staff of the Turkey Emergency Medicine Foundation.

The Training Schedule:
